Part-Time Musical Accompanist
Job Description
Position Relationships:
Supervised by the Music Director.
Evaluated annually within month of hire by Pastor, Church/Staff Liaison Committee, Music Director, and Choir.
Meet with the Leadership Council on a regular basis.
Maintain a good working relationship with the Pastor, Music Director, choir members, and other church members and staff.
Responsibilities:
Applicant must be available on Sunday mornings for 4 hours (roughly). This includes services, staff meetings and rehearsals. Other days may be necessary for meetings or cantatas as needed.
Have an intermediate skill level of the piano, including but not limited to reading vocal parts, and accompaniment.
Assist in planning, and organizing the music program including choirs, vocal and/or instrumental ensembles.
Arrive on time and prepared for every event.
Following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, assist the Music Director in leading the congregation in worship and praise during designated times of worship.
Assist in the coordination of the church music program with other church events on the calendar.
Arrange and provide musical accompaniment for weddings, funerals, special programs, ministries and other church related activities on request.
Exhibit a personal passion for the Holy Spirit and music.
Possess the ability to provide suitable postludes, preludes, special music, and offertories
Fulfill other ministries as assigned by the Pastor and the Music Director.
