Baptist congregations in Virginia’s capital region form the network of Dover Baptist Association churches. They voluntarily link together to develop and coordinate shared missions, design and organize training, encourage and promote ministries, and foster communication among its members. They do all this to witness, disciple, and minister the love of Christ in the world.

Dover currently partners with Tipi Wakan Ministries, located in the Cannon Ball community on the Standing Rock Reservation (North Dakota).
Regional Ministers Prayer Gatherings
Area 5: Thursday, January 21
on Zoom at 10 a.m.
As we begin the new year, we want to dedicate some time listening and praying with and for our Dover Association churches. We invite you and the other Area 5 pastors and ministry staff to a virtual prayer gathering on Thursday, January 21 at 10 a.m.
Our time will include listening to the blessings and challenges happening among your churches, receiving input on how Dover may better serve and support you, and spending time in prayer for one another.
Community Conversations
Each monthly conversation will explore an area of associational ministry in need of development and will include committee, council or team members, ministers and congregational leaders interested in the topic.
January 26: Developing a leadership cohort and ministry incubator among younger adults.
February 25: Building relationships cross-culturally and having courageous conversations about race.
March 4: Ministry idea exchange among children and youth ministers/leaders.
Morning sessions: 10 a.m. – Noon
Evening sessions: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m

Thank you for your interest in a potential mission trip to the Standing Rock Reservation as part of our Dover mission partnership with Tipi Wakan ministries in Cannon Ball, ND.
We have scheduled a required orientation for January 30 from 10am – Noon. This will be a hybrid meeting, allowing some to join us in-person and others online. Orientation and at least one additional training is required for our volunteers. We have built relationships of love and trust with our Native American friends in the last 13 years and we believe our preparation both culturally and spiritually has made the difference.

Introducing the Dover A/V Support Group
It has been almost a year now since COVID forced all churches to implement more technology in an incredibly short period of time. Some are now masters at Zoom and other platforms—whether we wanted to be or not!
A new support group just for A/V and tech people has launched! This is an informal network primarily for volunteers working all this out mostly behind the scenes.

These workshops are designed to offer training and information for church ministry groups or committees.
February 11: Navigating the Interim and Pastor Search Process

Morning sessions: 10 a.m.-Noon
Evening sessions: 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m.
At least one (1) Dover church is featured each week for prayer emphasis. We encourage you to lift each church up in prayer, including its leaders, ministries, members, and community.
