Members of Dover's Colosse Baptist Church Raise $4,200 for MDA Research

This past summer, members of Colosse Baptist Church held a carnival to raise money to help find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy. Blake, a young and vibrant young man, and a member of Colosse, has been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Blake's family has been extremely supportive and are taking action to help fight this disease.

Pandemic Flu—What Can a Church and It’s Leaders Do?

On April 30, 2009 Virginia confirmed that the H1N1 flu has arrived in the commonwealth. A news release said, "Given the size of the state’s population, seasonal travel patterns and the ease with which the flu virus is spread, [Virginia’s State Health Commissioner] said that it is likely there will be additional cases in the Commonwealth." Various state and federal agencies, as well as the Red Cross, offer information and guidance that churches and their leaders may use. This article summarizes some of that information, suggests actions to take, and provides links to some resources.
